Keeping Prosperity Prosperity Destruction Humility Repentance RighteousnessPride Wickedness Suffering Prosperity doesn’t always lead to Pride. You can always remember the source of your prosperity …and that’s God. When you remember God, you are humble and keep His commandments, and He will continually prosper you. (2 Nephi 5:11-27; Helaman 12:2, Alma 48:15) Remember God

Continual Destruction Prosperity Destruction Humility Repentance RighteousnessPride Wickedness Suffering Likewise, Destruction doesn’t always lead to one to become humble. Oftentimes, a person doesn’t want to admit he’s wrong, even when he’s suffering and under a destructive phase. His focus forgets God and is on himself instead. This puts him on a cycle of progressive self- destruction. Forget God

Temptation and Awakening Prosperity Destruction Humility Repentance RighteousnessPride Wickedness Suffering What causes a prosperous people to become prideful? They first become COMPLACENT…and then, they FORGET GOD because of their complacency. (Helaman 12:2) Remember God Forget God Temptation of Complacency What causes someone to become humble once again after reaching their bottom? They WAKE UP and COME TO THEIR SENSES and REMEMBER GOD once again. (Helaman 12:23, 2 Nephi 1:12-13, Alma 36:17-18) An awakening. Come to your senses.

Preaching… Prosperity Destruction Humility Repentance RighteousnessPride Wickedness Suffering Remember God Forget God Temptation of Complacency We can avoid destruction by REMEMBERING GOD FIRST. We don’t have to be destroyed. We don’t have to “get there”. This is why the PREACHING OF THE WORD is always directed towards the casual Christian, the prideful, the sinner, the sufferer, and even to those on the verge of destruction… The preaching of the word of God acts as our constant reminder to remember Him. This is uncomfortable, but necessary, territory for both the preacher and the sinner. It is an act of mercy by God to help the sinner avoid what must unavoidably come otherwise. An awakening. Come to your senses. PREACHING …to remind us of the source of our blessings …to remind us of God …to cause us to repent …to show us on whom to turn for comfort …to wake us up
