MLA OR APA? APA emphasizes the date of the publication, MLA does not. Therefore: Disciplines that want the latest and greatest ideas prefer APA citation (math, chemistry, biology, psychology, economics, physics, etc.) Disciplines that want timeless ideas prefer MLA (history, literature, theology, philosophy, etc.)
