From 2014 students will be evaluated on the following criteria: ◦ Meeting minimum admission requirements ◦ Available supervisory capacity ◦ Whether research topic can be supervised ◦ Assessment of supporting documents i.e research outline ◦ Critical issues: students must visit the website for the selection criteria and the requirements of the research outline/narrative/essay.

Minimum admission requirements ◦ Hons ◦ PG diploma (NQF level 8) Curriculum: Research degree RPM and a dissertation Or Coursework/structured degree Modules, RPM and a dissertation of limited scope

Minimum admission requirements ◦ Masters degree in the field /related field Curriculum Research only RPM and thesis

Examination modules ◦ May cancel and forfeit minimum fees Research component (rpm, dissertation, thesis). ◦ May cancel but forfeit all fees

Official break from studies Must apply for deferment before registration commences If already registered – it is a cancellation If not registered – it is a deferment May apply twice one year at a time
