AIDA 2 Chip separation block Heatsink Light-tight area Holes for underside connector Location pins This is to be assembled as a single unit

AIDA 3 Max temp 44 ºC Still have remainder of thermal path to consider

AIDA 5 FEE64 cards 8mm thick intermediate plate Overlapping sockets Socket guide Location pins FEE64 cards fastened to intermediate plate

AIDA Fixed Plate FEE Mechanics Moving Plate Cooling channels Side Plates Dow Corning type foam Mechanics consists of 4 main parts Moving plate, Fixed plate and 2 side plates. Guide channels 8
8
FEE64 Module Dow Corning type foam not used at this location for Agata Necessary for Aida, as it for example central module is slightly higher than other two, (due to mechanical tolerance build up) it could reduce the level of cooling available for the other modules AIDA 9

Wheels drop into pockets at this point Some float will be required in this board. (not shown yet) Manual level at this end to push connectors together (not shown yet) Female part of connector 10

Boards in ‘correct’ orientation Boards rotated clockwise Boards inverted Boards rotated anti-clockwise I don’t mind the inverted boards, as it doesn’t affect the mechanics, but I would prefer to avoid the clockwise and anti-clockwise boards AIDA 11

AIDA Detector Detector Connection boards Kapton Ribbon cable All Mechanics in same orientation 12
12
There are 3 ways to do this 1. Make two different detector connection boards, 1 for the vertical option, and 1 for the lateral options. 2. Make 1 detector connection boards, with 2 sockets for the kapton cable. Only 1 of which is used. Split connectors for ribbon cable lateral position 3. Twist the cables… AIDA 13
