1 Presentation by: Ashley Leschner, Koty Milford, and Chris Ross

2  There are many skills you can take from job to job while in the work force.  Just because you gain a skill in one job does not mean you cannot use it in another work place.

3  People skills- People skills are important in most jobs because you will most likely be working with co-workers. Most jobs also include working with customers, if you do not know how to treat customers, co-workers, or bosses properly you may not continue to uphold your position.

4  Listening skills- Listening skills is important in every job at one point or another. This is important because you may have to follow directions from a boss, fellow co-worker, or even a customer. You would not want to mess up instructions given by a customer or you may lose them as one. If you cannot listen to co-workers or your boss you may even lose your job.

5  Computer skills- As technology continues to get more and more developed, we continue to see more and more computers popping up in the work force. Many people will need to learn computer skills to keep a job or even get one. Employers will need employees with proper computer skills to manage their job task.

6  Physical fitness- Physical fitness is important in the work force now because many jobs require you to be active.  Reading skills- Reading skills are very important because if you can’t read you cannot follow directions and do other tasks. This stresses the importance of an education.  Writing skills- You must be able to write good because if someone cannot read your writing they cannot follow what you are saying.

7  Understand the task at hand- As an employer they will want an employee with the ability to understand and follow the task at hand.  Sales skills- Many work places also sell things. To many jobs this is of great importance. If you are not good at selling things, you will not bring in enough revenue.  Education- Education is important in all jobs! Most jobs require you to have your G.E.D. or high school diploma. Many jobs also require further training beyond this.

8  Problem Solving Skills- This skill is very important! You will need this if something unexpected occurs. You will need to figure out what to do.

9  As you can see many skills can continued to be carried through your years in the workforce. You should use these skills to the best of your ability everyday on the job.
