Instructions: How to Access Your Remote Desktop Server

1. Install the Certification (only on a PC, sorry Mac!) 1. Open the attachment labeled Certification for Remote Desktop Server from the email sent to you.

2. Click on “Install Certification” OK 3. Hit Next

4. Make sure you’re on “Place all certificates in the following store”, and then hit Browse …

5. Make sure you select “Trusted Root Certification Authorities” OK

6. Hit Finish

To access the Remote Network go to … http://rds.sewanhaka.k12.ny.us/rdweb OR go to the Sewanhaka District Homepage and find it under For Teachers and Staff.

After sewanhaka\ type the user name and password you use on the computers at school.

Click on Full Desktop

Some computers may show this extra step. If it does, where it says user name type “sewanhaka\“ then type in your HFC user name and password again OK.

One or two more notification boxes will pop up and you can hit “Connect” and “Yes”

Once you’re connected to the Remote Server, your background will be black. Anything saved on the desktop, S/Z drive or classroom drive at home will be there when you get to work!!! Once again, this network is COMPLTELY separate from your personal computer.

To log off, simply click the X on the top of your screen and you will return to your personal desktop. To make access easier, try saving a shortcut onto your home computer desktop. If you have any questions please don’t hesitate to contact me at ext. 9430. Thanks - Karine
