10 State Constitution  Once independence was declared, NC became a state  Each state wrote a new constitution (set of rules and procedures for government)  NC constitution made it bicameral (Two Bodies).  House of Commons  Senate  NC also had a Declaration of Rights (rights and protections for citizens)  No rule on amendments

He swore revenge  When the British invaded in 1781, Fanning became a colonel  Was very evil  Stole  Murdered  Raped  Tory/Whig war ends 1782  Pardon was issued to Tories who fought solely because the King wanted them to in 1784  The War left NC destitute  Ports were closed  Farms ruined
