Ethical duty: has a stronger impact on the most vulnerable sectors and makes them more destitute Affects the country’s human development Creates a permanent institutional framework. Allows for transformation of EVS into a State policy and the implementation of a genuine public and private intersectoral system. Fulfills UN, WHO and PAHO Global Commitments (multisectoral policies and plans and legislative measures) 2

CHOOSE A HEALTHY LIFESTYLE ACT Creates the Intersectoral Choose a Healthy Style System to improve Chileans’ quality of life and well-being Management model formed by policies, plans and programs prepared and implemented by several State agencies with a view to generating healthy habits and lifestyles and reducing risk factors and behaviors associated with non-communicable diseases. 4

Prepared and implemented both from a sectoral or inter- sectoral point of view To design and carry out initiatives having one or more of the purposes stated herein. To consider registration procedures of beneficiaries and applicants’ information allowing to measure and assess, at least, processes and results, such as coverage, efficacy and quality. CHOOSE A HEALTHY LIFESTYLE ACT May enter into agreements for the operation or financing of the System. Municipalities, State administration agencies and private entities Administrative decrees must establish standards on advertising, promotion and corporate social responsibility to be met by private companies and institutions should they wish to enter into agreements with Choose a Healthy Lifestyle and make use of its logos. The above standards must be met in order for agreements to remain in full force. Relationship with the private sector 13
