3 National Transition Conference Materials now online The National Transition Conference was held from May 30 to June 1 in Washington, DC. An overview of the conference program; materials provided by presenters and captioned video of both the opening session and the keynote speaker, Ann Wilson Cramer of IBM are now available online. Breakout session materials have been organized by theme track. You can download the material or view it in your web browser. 4 Employment Rights & Responsibilities The U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) has released a video and classroom guides to educate working-age students about different types of workplace discrimination, including sexual harassment and disability discrimination. 5 What’s Your Connection? A new Disability.gov initiative launched to reinforce the idea that people who identify as having a disability are not separate, but an integral part of society, and to spark conversations around the inclusion of people with disabilities. Participate online by sharing how disability touches your life by submitting a photograph and a YouTube video or 250-word caption that answers the question, "What's Your Connection?" Send photographs and captions to disability@dol.gov and upload videos to YouTube using the hasthtag #myconnection2, in the title. Learn more.disability@dol.govLearn more

6 Credentials for Youth Tool The Department of Labor's (DOL) new tool, Credentials for Youth: Success in the 21st Century Economy, guides youth through the process of attaining credentials in high- demand occupations. The tool also helps users connect to resources to find high-demand jobs in their area using labor market information. 7 NSTTAC Youth at Work NSTTAC, in partnership with the USBLN and other organizations focused on employment of youth and young adults with disabilities, has launched a newly reorganized Youth to Work Coalition (YTWC) website, accessible through NSTTAC's website: http://www.nsttac.org/ytw/home. The purpose of this website is to house resources that help link employers and schools to resources for work-based learning experiences for youth with disabilities. http://www.nsttac.org/ytw/home

8 College and Career Readiness The Career Readiness Partner Council has developed a document defining what it means to be Career Ready. They provide information on academic and technical knowledge and skills needed to become Career Ready. Additionally, they indicate employability knowledge, skills, and dispositions necessary to be Career Ready and what is necessary to build a comprehensive system that supports career readiness. 9 Person Centered Planning The Transition Coalition has created a mini module, providing information about person-centered planning (PCP) and the role it can play in transition planning. In this module, a user will learn (a) why PCP was developed, (b) how PCP is defined and major features of all PCP methods, (c) steps to implementing a PCP, and (d) how to apply PCP to transition planning.
