The question #3: I have 50 coins in a jar 9 (quarters, dimes, and nickels only) that are worth $5.00 in total. I have three times as many nickels as quarters. The number of dimes is 1 more than the number of nickels. How many of each type of coin do I have?

The work First I tried 9q,19n, 22d 9*.25=2.25 19*.5=.95 22*.10=2.20 2.25+.95+2.20=5.4 I figured that did not work Then I tried 8q,20n,22d 8*.25=2.00 20*.5=1.00 22*.10=2.20 2.20+1.00+2.00=5.20 Q=quarters N=nickels D=dimes Then I tried 9q, 21n, 22d 7*.25=1.75 21*.5=1.05 22*.10=2.20 1.75+1.05+2.20=5.00
