The Book Of Revelation 7 Underlying Principles That Can Help Us Better Understand
2
Principle #1 The book of Revelation consists of 7 sections. Each section is parallel to the others. Each section spans the entire New Testament era. (From the 1 st to the 2 nd coming of Christ.)
3
Principle #2 The 7 sections are arranged in order of emphasis. Progressive emphasis is given to the final judgment.
4
Principle #3 The fabric of this book consists of pictures. The details of each picture must fit the whole. Ask: What is the big picture? Ask: What is the main idea?
5
Principle #4 The seals, trumpets, bowls of wrath, and similar symbols refer to principles, not specific events. These are principles of human conduct and of divine moral government that are operating throughout the history of the world.
6
Principle #5 This book is rooted in events that were happening at the time it was written. It’s symbols should be interpreted in the light of conditions which existed at that time.
7
Principle #6 This book is rooted in the rest of God’s Word. It should be interpreted in harmony with the entire Bible (both the O.T. & the N.T.)
8
Principle #7 This book came from the mind of God. It contains the purpose of God concerning the history of His church.
