Line Line is the basic element of art. Line can be 2-D or 3-D. Line has many variations.

Shape Shape is formed when a line crosses or connects with itself. There are two main types of shapes: Organic which are freeform and natural Geometric which are geometric and mathematical.

Color Color is used by artist to fill in shapes. There are hundreds of colors. But all colors come from five primary colors. Secondary colors are made by mixing two primary colors Complementary colors are opposite of each other. Analogous colors are similar. Warm colors contain reds and oranges Cool color contain greens and blues.

Value Value is the lightness or darkness of a color. Value creates form which make objects appear to be 3-D.

Texture Texture is the feel or appearance of the surface on an object. Texture can be Real. Texture can be implied.
