3 Job Title/Responsibilities Design environmental studies that assess potential impacts of oil and gas development on the marine environment. –Many studies have been carried out to investigate the impacts of drilling products on marine creatures living in the water column and around the production platform. MMS marine biologists also study resources of the Gulf of Mexico such as coastal wetlands, sea grasses, barrier islands, submarine banks, and live bottoms.
