Graph Some basic instructions http://www.padowan.dk/download/

Entering your Data: While in ‘GRAPH’ Using the button ‘Insert Point Series’ (blue axes with red points)

This screen will pop up. For the Measurement & Density Lab Use X = Volume & Y = Mass

If you cannot see all your points or either of the axes, you will need to make adjustments to the axes settings.

Sets where the edge of the visible graph will be. Choose y-axis tab for top and bottom.

This sets where one axis crosses the other. In this case – the Y-axis crossed the X-axis at the value X=2

Once you have your axes and points visible, you will need to plot the line: This box will pop up; Choose ‘Linear’ (as shown) Click ok

Now you will see a Line made from your point series. You will ALSO see a box containing the equation of your line. The equation is in the Y = mX + b m = slope and b = y intercept. Below: m = 0.5 and b = -0.5 R 2 is a statistic that will give some information about the goodness of fit of a model. “In regression, the R 2 coefficient of determination is a statistical measure of how well the regression line approximates the real data points. An R 2 of 1.0 indicates that the regression line perfectly fits the data.” This is like saying that as x changed a certain amount, y changed in the same manner.

Using the Edit Axes menu like before, you can add a Title to the Graph.

Don’t forget to label your axes with property and units
