LINE A mark on a surface that describes shape or an outline. It can create texture or value. CONTOUR LINES A pure line drawing. Using ONLY lines to draw with both inside and out.

BLIND CONTOUR LINES A line drawing where you look at the object the entire time you draw and never look down at your paper. Typically you do not pick up your pencil while you draw. Why is this?

CONTIUOUS LINE DRAWING
A line drawing where you draw the entire subject without removing your drawing tool from the paper.

Because to learn to draw is to learn to SEE.
Why do artists draw using gesture lines, outlines, contour lines, blind contour lines or continuous lines? Because to learn to draw is to learn to SEE. When focused on an object, drawing using specific lines helps the artist to focus on the object and begin to SEE the lines and curves that it has.
