Newborn Assessment Evaluation scales have been developed to assess the infant’s condition at birth. Apgar (0-2) 1 and 5 minutes after birth. Summed, the scores 7-10 are normal. Heart rate Respiration Reflex Muscle tone Skin color Brazelton (24-36 hours after birth) Range of 28 behaviors (sucking reflex, motor system control…)
