Description: Researching of documents from the State Archive of Latvia fund Nr. 1986. This archive fund includes records of 49’321 person. Task of the project: To make a data base and to write biographic articles of all Jews who were arrested (cases of political arrests). Project “Jews who were arrested in Latvia 1940-1986”

Description: Researching of documents from the State Archive of Personnel Files fund Nr. 3556 (Department of visas and registration). This archive fund includes records of 16’000 Jews. Task of the project: To make a data base and to write biographic articles. Project “Jews who emigrated from Latvia 1950-1989”

Description: Researching of documents from the State Historical Archive of Latvia fund Nr. 2942. Author of research – Tamara Zitcer. The aim of research: To make a data base of records from house registers (addresses of places were Jews lived in Riga). Research “The house registers of the Riga Ghetto”

There is information about each person who lived there (name, surname, date of birth, place of birth, previous living address) and information when each person was registered in the Gheto and when he or she was signed out of the Ghetto.

Every data base will include unique information about Jews who lived in Latvia or had connection with this country. These data bases will be useful not only for persons who are searching information about one’s relatives and friends, but will help to make some new or correct previous historical-demographic conclusions. For Association “Shamir” it is very important to save memory of each and every person. The main goal of all these projects
