4 Borne: at Edavanakad 30th December, 1928 a local village in Ernakulam district ACADEMIC: Secondary 1946 First class from Govt. High School Intermediate :Under Madras University in 1948 from Maharaja’s College Ernakulam. First class, first among backward community from Madras University. He was awarded for Senior University Scholarship.

5 Degree :In 1950, secured degree B.Sc Chemistry from Maharaja’s College (last batch under Madras University) 1950 – 53 worked in Farooq College, Dept. of Chemistry as Faculty Member.

6 P.G:1953 – 55 M.Sc Chemistry in AMU. First rank holder in the University. Earned Senior University Govt. of India Award for Research work. Simultaneously worked as a Faculty in AMU.

7 Ph.D:Completed Ph.D in Physical Chemistry, in 1958. First Ph.D in the Dept. of AMU in this branch and first Ph.D in Science among the Kerala Muslims.

8 Job Profile: in 1959 joined as SCIENTIST in Baba Atomic Research Centre,Mumbai..& retired in 1988

9 Member – Secretary of Atomic energy Education Society, an autonomous body constituted for educational needs of children of employees of Dept. of Atomic Energy, its units and undertakings such as Electronic Corporation of India Ltd. (ECIL), Uranium Corporation of India Ltd. (UCIL), Indian Rare Earths Ltd. (IRE), etc., from 1972 onwards till retirement in 1988. As Secretary, was responsible for organising and managing the entire activities of all institutions under the aegis of AEE. (with nearly 30,000 students and over 1300 staff spread over 11 States from Bihar to Karnataka and Tamilnadu).

10 Set up a Special School in Bombay for mentally retarded children of employees of Dept. of Atomic Energy. Served as member of various Staff Selection Committees of Dept. of Atomic Energy and also as University Examiner in Central and State universities.

11 Social Activities: In 1973 initiated, organised and managed as Honorary Secretary to Employees Family Relief Scheme for B.A.R.C / D.A.E employees, numbering over 70,000. Continued as Secretary till retirement 1988. Incidentally this scheme is the forerunner of Central Government Employees Group Insurance Scheme which came into effect four year later.

12 An organization called “SOCLEEN” (Society for Clean Environment) the first of its kind in the country took birth in 1969 in Bombay as a public trust. Was founder member and founder treasurer with Dr. Jussawala, the eminent cancer specialists as its founder president.

13 Involved in organising social activities like blood donation drive, leprosy eradication etc. and preparation of a reference guide ‘HELP’ – for the destitutes and the needy in Bombay.

14 After retirement….. Founder Director of the Al-Farook Educational Centre,Farook Calicut, an autonomous, registered educational organization devoted to imparting job oriented education / training and award of Diplomas and Certificates.
