Health-ready Connectivity: The Business Case for Spurring Coordinated Community Healthcare Delivery with Broadband The “Health-ready Connectivity” model was developed by CommunityHealth IT’s leadership in 2012 and was presented to the FCC, National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA), HHS, and White House Rural Council
7
Health-ready Connectivity Model Healthcare places large demands on reliable, ubiquitous, and ample broadband. Healthcare professionals must be able to handle HIT use at the POC. Because of this dependence on connectivity, broadband can be looked upon as a connected community healthcare utility when partnered with a true community health information exchange and population health tool.
8
Health-ready Connectivity Model provides the meaningful use (REAL meaningful use) of broadband capabilities for the future of healthcare spurs job creation saves $$$ CONNECTS healthcare A partnership between broadband stakeholders and CommunityHealth IT easily services interdependent rural and urban communities through Health-ready Connectivity.
9
Health-ready Connectivity Model: Vision To reach full value—for patients wherever they may live or work—connecting broadband and healthcare delivery must be allowed to expand throughout rural AND urban areas, covering the entire healthcare delivery network in a given community.
