Cells to Tissues to Organs Learning Goals 1.I am learning the types of tissues of Animals and plants 2.I am learning how these tissues make up organs
2
The Human Bicycle What are the different parts of a bicycle? Which parts of the bicycle work together? What happens if there is a flat tire? What happens if the chain slips off the gears? What happens if the brakes no longer work?
3
Tissue A group of specialized cells that work together
4
Organs An internal body part in which different tissues work together to do a job on which the survival of the the whole organism depends ( the heart)
5
Animal Tissues Connective Tissue- fat, tendons, and bone) supports and connects parts of the body Nervous tissue (in the brain, spine, and nerves) sends and receives signal. Muscle Tissue ( such as the heart contracts to cause movement) Epithelial Tissue- skin covers the outer surface of the body and the insides of the organs (such as intestines)
6
Plant Tissue Protective Tissue- provides a covering to prevent water loss and protect the plant Photosynthetic tissue changes the sun’s energy into sugar Transport tissue contains hollow tubes that move food and water through the plant.
