3 Mental Disorder (Vocab) O An illness of the mind that can affect the thoughts, feelings, and behaviors of a person, preventing him or her from leading a happy, healthful, and productive life.

4 Stigma (Vocab) O A mark of shame or disapproval that results in an individual being shunned or rejected by others.

5 Types of Mental Disorders O Anxiety Disorders O Impulse Control Disorders O Eating Disorders O Mood Disorders O Conduct Disorders O Schizophrenia O Personality Disorders

6 Anxiety Disorder (Vocab) O A condition in which real or imagined fears are difficult to control. O Examples: Phobias, Obsessive-compulsive disorder, Panic disorder,Post-traumatic stress disorder(PTSD).

7 Impulse Control Disorder O The person cannot resist the urge to hurt themselves or others. O Examples: Gambling, Kleptomania, Cutting, Pyromania, Shopping.

8 Eating Disorders O Extreme, harmful eating behaviors that can cause a serious illness or even death O Examples: Anorexia, Bulimia, and Binge eating.

9 Mood Disorders O An illness that involves mood extremes that interfere with everyday living. O Examples: Depression and Bipolar
