An interactive notebook (NB) is your own personalized DIARY of learning about science. A portfolio of your work in ONE convenient spot. This is great for studying for upcoming quizzes & tests. A great ORGANIZATIONAL tool that gives you permission to be PLAYFUL AND CREATIVE in your responses without "messing up" your notes. Allows you to be like a REAL SCIENTIST !

The Left SIDE is for student work. This is the side that you can use to show your creativity. This is the “output” or product side. It expands on what you learned. The Right SIDE is contains only information given by the teacher. Nothing else should be placed on the RIGHT SIDE!! This is the side for teaching and learning. The notebook is divided into TWO sections.

LEFT side = STUDENT work = OUTPUT LEFT side = STUDENT work = OUTPUT RIGHT side is “restricted” to TEACHER INPUT

Your response to the day’s activity is placed on the bottom left or output side of the notebook. This section acts as a reinforcement for the right or input side. You can design the left side any way you like unless specific guidelines are given.

The RIGHT SIDE belongs to me and should only contain information given or “input” from the teacher. Nothing else should be placed on this page! The RIGHT SIDE will contain all the TESTABLE material. Input on the right side can be found on the Important Information page of my website.

The RIGHT side of the notebook contains information given to you by your teacher. This is the ESSENTIAL information that will DEFINITELY be on a quiz or test. Nothing else should go on this side.

Setting up the Table of Contents and All About Me pages. All About Me should be on white paper located at the very front of the binder before any dividers. The table of Contents should be numbered 1-4 in the Table of Contents section 21 Author’s Page “ALL ABOUT YOU” 0 Table Of Contents

To setup the NOTES section of the binder. The first page will be page 0 (zero) in order for the rest of the pages to line up correctly. You will number the pages in the bottom outside corner. These pages will be titled and listed in the Table of Contents. 120 NOTES

No RIPPED OUT pages or torn corners. No DOODLING that doesn’t relate to science. Notebook should only be used for SCIENCE CLASS ONLY. DATE AND NUMBER each page. All entries must go into the Table of Contents. BE COLORFUL & LOVE YOUR NOTEBOOK.
