…for your Student Learning Outcome Data. April PD Session 2013

This is not the only way to organize your files! This has worked well for me this past year It has taken some time to get used to. Students don’t like it! BUT You can download files, organize them, and delete them off of the device quickly between classes!
3
STEP 1 Each sectional will get its own folder. STEP 2 Inside each folder you will create a separate folder for different recordings
4
STEP 3 Every time you download, move the files into the correct recording folder. STEP 4 REPEAT! (repeat this for every sectional and every recording!) **You DO NOT need to rename files!!!!

Create a Recording Key… - In your roster, add a column with recording numbers. This way you can reference the roster as a way to verify who is playing in each recording. - - ALWAYS record students in the same order. The device labels each recording in numerical order. If Teddy is recording 1, he ALWAYS has to go first. - **SPECIAL NOTE** - -If someone is absent, make a placeholder recording of you saying their name and absent. - -This will keep the system working. As a back-up…. Have the students say their name and what they are playing at the beginning of the recording. In case you mess up the routine, this will help you solve the puzzle!

ROUTINE! ▪ For this to work, you need to RECORD STUDENTS IN THE SAME ORDER EVERY TIME. ▪ Create a file for each recording (test/quiz/audition) in each sectional’s folder on your computer. ▪ Drag and drop all of the generic, numbered recordings into the correct folder. ▪ THEN, delete them off of the device. ▪ If you mess up your routine, it can take a lot of patience and time to fix.
