Professional Actor Actors endure long periods of unemployment, intense competition for roles, and frequent rejections in auditions.  Annual wage data for actors was not available because of the wide range in the number of hours worked by actors and the short-term nature of their jobs  Most actors need to supplement their income with jobs outside this field
