Avenue of the Righteous Among Nations at Yad Vashem in Israel As of January 2005, 20,757 are included on the list of non-Jews who risked their lives to save Jews during the Second World War. The largest number of righteous gentiles come from Poland. This is not surprising perhaps because of the large number of Jews that were living in Poland. There are 410 people listed from Germany.
