Tool for Measuring Print Archiving Activity PAPR Print Archives Preservation RegistryPrint Archives Preservation Registry (PAPR): Collection management tool that provides online data about print archiving programs and archived materials, and analysis of library collections to support archiving and retention decisions Registry includes: Information about 29 print archive programs or collections, 55,000 bibliographic records and associated holdings from 12 programs/collections and 66 institutions, 14,500 CLOCKSS and PORTICO bibliographic records and associated holding Statistics Record counts by program, LC Classification, Year of Commitment, Validation level, and Number of Copies per title.

Future Work Supporting Print Archives Andrew W. Mellon Foundation recently awarded CRL funding to expand analysis and planning of print archiving and digitization of print journals and newspapers. Two year project to: Collect and analyze granular data on archiving and digitization effforts Analyze scope and benefits of major shared print archives Identify the aggregate gaps, strengths and weaknesses of archiving efforts Promote coordinated, strategic action by libraries and consortia Convene forum in June 2015 to consider the implications and identify needs and priorities for further archive development and expansion.
