’05 Main motivation for joining ISERN: Difficult (if not impossible) to do empirical work in isolation Would like to be part of a community of like-minded researchers During graduate school (studying with Vic Basili) got the chance to interact with some ISERN members Interesting and beneficial to work with researchers who have different (but related) interests Interested in collaborations Expectations Interact with more experienced researchers Form collaborations that would not otherwise occur Obtain deeper understanding of topics through coordinated and replicated studies Motivation & Expectation
