2. According to the dictionary, a covenant is “an agreement or promise… between two or more parties, especially for the performance of some action.”

3. According to the bible, a covenant is a solemn agreement between parties through which they commit themselves to certain relationships, tasks, obligations or ways of living.

4. It establishes a significant family-like relationship between the parties. The parties are bound in a personal way.

5. It is not just an ordinary promise for it involves commitment and sacrifice to remain faithful to the covenant.

6. A contract is different from a covenant.

7. A covenant is an exchange not only of goods, but more so of persons. It is giving everything you have, even beyond what was set, to fulfill your promise.

8. Fear not, Abram, I am your shield; your reward shall be very great. Look toward heaven, and number the stars, if you are able to number them. So shall your offspring be. Genesis 15:16

9. In the Old Testament, a covenant is a treaty or contract, which established a relationship between two parties and bound them together. Through the covenant, God and His people were joined together. THE OLD COVENANT

10. God has revealed himself fully by sending his own Son, in whom he has established his covenant forever. The Son is his Father's definitive Word; so there will be no further Revelation after him (CCC 73). THE NEW COVENANT

11. God’s new covenant with man is created by the blood of Jesus. After supper, Jesus took another cup of wine and said, 'This wine is the token of God's new covenant to save you – an agreement sealed with the blood I will pour out for you.’ Luke 22:20

12. This is the new covenant I will make with the people of Israel on that day, ’says the Lord.’ I will put my law in their minds, and I will write them on their hearts. I will be their God, and they will be my people. Jeremiah 31:33 The new covenant is written in our hearts.

13. As He has initiated a relationship with us and as we have responded yes to this invitation, He calls us into living our lives in accordance to His will. As we commit to follow the covenant He offers us, He promises us fullness of life.

14. I SHALL LIVE AS A FOLLOWER OF CHRIST.

15. I DEDICATE MYSELF TO THE TASK OF BUILDING A STRONG FAMILY FOR CHRIST.

16. I SHALL BE A COMMITTED AND ACTIVE CFC SFL MEMBER.

17. I SHALL BE A WITNESS TO THE WORLD OF GOD’S LOVE.

18. Our covenant with God is His gift to us. In order for us to experience the fullness of the promises, which this covenant entails, we have to respond to it accordingly.
