Chromebook Ethics CCHS Version 2.015

No Anonymous Surfing A CCS Internet activity is tracked. Daily list of where you’ve been and what you were doing or trying to do while there.

CCS Internet Use Policy Computers at CCHS are for class assignments or projects only. Computers are not to be used for web surfing, chat rooms, playing games, or receiving or sending e-mails or instant messages, unless part of an assignment given by a teacher.

Web Activity Reports The Camden County BOE runs weekly reports on all computer activity from CCHS computers on unauthorized websites such as MYSPACE, FACEBOOK and use of any alternate links for access. The report includes the date, time, search queries, the destination and or co-destination.

Web Activity Violation Consequences The inappropriate use of a school computer will result in disciplinary consequences, which may include loss of computer privileges, as well as other appropriate disciplinary consequences.

AUP Located on CCHS Website Students and parents should familiarize themselves with the CCHS computer use policy and the Camden County School System’s Internet-Appropriate Use Policy and Network Access Agreement.

Use of Electronic Devices Electronic devices such as but not limited to: cell phones, cameras, I-pods, MP3 players, PSP, etc. are not allowed in the school building during school hours. Discipline consequences will apply for possession and/or use. Cameras which includes: digital, video, cell phone, I-pod etc.

Use of Cameras Students will not be allowed to use any camera to capture images or videos of teachers, staff, or students without permission. Students must never post unauthorized images or videos of teachers, staff, or students on the Internet.

Camera Violation Consequences Students will not use cameras at anytime while in restrooms or locker rooms. Students will not take photos or videos that are of an obscene nature. Any student found in violation of this rule can be suspended from school (OSS) for as many as five days

Chromebook - Textbook Your Google Chromebook is considered a school supply just like your textbook. Be sure to bring it to school daily. Leaving a Chromebook in a classroom, cafeteria, bus, hallway or restroom can result in lunch detention.

Charging Chromebooks should be charged nightly so that they are ready to use at the beginning of the school day.

8 Hours Long A fully charged Chromebook can last up to 8 hours. However it is important to SHUT the device down when you are not using it. Closing the top only uses power.

More on Charging When charging your Chromebooks, be sure to shut the device down completely. If you use it while charging, it will let you work, but will NOT charge the device.

Close Chromebooks When Walking Be sure to keep your Chromebooks closed when walking in the hallways. Leaving it open can increase the chances that your device will be damaged if it should fall.

Password It is also important for you to remember your passwords. Do not share your password information with others. This includes passwords for online resources and textbooks. Think of it like your locker combination.

ASAP If you run into problems with your Chromebook it is important to inform the CCHS Media Specialists IMMEDIATELY!

Replacement Chargers A replacement charger cannot be returned after 3 business days of receiving the new charger.
