Background Polpo was born in Iqaluit. When he was young, he saw an athlete skating at the ice rink. He was amazed by how fast the athlete skated. Polpo secretly started to train. After 2 years of training, he heard about city of Vancouver hosting the 2010 Olympic. He wanted to attend and win a gold medal! Polpo left his home town and headed for Vancouver. When he reached Vancouver, Polpo received a red scarf from Quatchi. Polpo was born in Iqaluit. When he was young, he saw an athlete skating at the ice rink. Polar Bear Info Can be found in the arctic regions of North America and Siberia. The Polar Bear is considered a potentially threatened species. Male Polar bears grow to between 8 and 10 feet high and weigh anywhere from 550 to 1700 pounds. Females are a little smaller; they grow to between 6 and 8 feet and weigh 200 to 700 pounds. Polar bears are excellent swimmers.
