Why did we choose Wiki? It is a good case-based learning platform for problem-based learning. Cognitive flexibility allows multiple users to add, remove, edit, change and manipulate available content at the same time has interactive and collaborative affordances Encourages meta-cognitive skills when users are co-authors and edit the content
5
Why problem-based learning in Wiki? According to (Ellis, Marcus and Taylor,2005) It encourages pupils to reflect on their own experiences and develop broader thinking through application and integration of knowledge. It is a good problem solving instructional method (pupil-centred) to sharpen collaborative and reflective skills.
6
Why are we having Group Work? According to (Sivan Eva, Summer 86, issue 3 ) Social constructivism is a theory of cognitive development which emphasizes the interaction between individual and the environment. It is a developmental process of skills and knowledge and dispositions that enables reciprocal interactions and joint constructions of meaning individually and in groups. It helps to pupils to experience different perspectives to a problem. It gives a sense of motivation to the pupils. It helps to promote social skills.
7
Why are we using C-map for assessment? It is a learning process to facilitate self- regulation and intentional learning. It helps to induce conceptual change It helps pupils to consolidate newly acquired knowledge It helps teachers to have a better understanding of pupils’ cognitive processes through the choice of their linking words. It helps pupils to export C-map into image file.

Problem In the recent years, there was a report on an increase of piracy happening along the Straits of Malacca. The latest report was as follows: When the coast guard arrived at the scene, the pirates had already fled with the loots. In order to locate the hiding place of the pirates, the coasted guard interviewed several people and below are some extracts of the interview. “I saw the pirate ship moving in the south-eastern direction”, a ship crew from ship A. “I saw the pirate ship moving in the northern direction of out ship,” the captain of ship B. ”I saw the ship sailed past our ship and headed in the south-eastern direction,” a passenger in ship C. “I saw the ship moving south on my radar,” the Navigation officer of ship D. Your father is a captain of the Star Virgo. Your family will be joining him for his next trip on a cruise to Phuket during the December Holidays. Star Virgo will be travelling along the Straits of Malacca. Using the map and the information given, how could you help your father against the piracy problem?
