1 Dual-Credit Objectives Provide an alternative program to AP Reduce college costs for students and families Improve college credit rates for high school students Expand access to qualified high school students participating post- secondary education opportunities (academic & career) Develop a model that is highly coordinated and is the mechanism for planning and implementation for academic, vocational, and industry needs Reduce the length time it takes for students to obtain their educational and/or career goals To address the enrollment impaction currently facing higher education

4 Dual Enrollment: Current Status 2010 Dual Enrollment AP Alternative started with 117 student in 2009 and after one year has approximately 400 students participating (started with 5 sections and now at 26 college sections while beating statewide AP Stats by 63%) AP Alternative had a 84% retention rate with an average GPA of 3.35 and college cost savings of approximately 1.5 million dollars for students and their families CTE had approximately 75 students complete courses and earn 3 college credits each which adds up to approximately 250 and $300,000 of college cost savings for students and their families
