Inference – a logical conclusion or guess that is made based on my prior knowledge and evidence from a text, photo, or situation

3. What do you know? What can you infer?
prior knowledge – Cleats are used for sports like football, baseball, and soccer. During the summer when it’s hot outside, sometimes I don’t feel like going to practice.
inference – It is summer. The boy (or girl) doesn’t feel like going to practice (maybe football) but agrees to go anyway. Mom is driving him to practice.
