Definition A group of organisations which undertake to work and learn together to: Support a shared vision and values centred on transfer of knowledge into practice. Implement a common strategy and workplan to realise this vision. Continuously improve the management of knowledge within their own organisations. This includes applying common standards for knowledge management. Facilitate education and training to improve knowledge management within their organizations Share information and knowledge

Commitment by NHKN organisations Defined strategic knowledge management objectives, aligned with national strategic vision in Enabling Partnerships Help to develop and apply national quality assurance framework for knowledge management. Promote skills of information literacy and knowledge- sharing within workforce and among service users. Where possible, share information or learning resources with other Network organisations through FAST index.

Support for NHKN organisations (1) 1.Support and guidance in developing and implementing KM strategy and applying KM standards. 2. Training and development - information literacy and sharing knowledge (communities of practice). 3. Technology tools: Enable access to their information and learning resources via e-Library Re-use and re-package e-Library information and learning resources in own services – e.g. Borders Health in Hand Community builder toolkit: Build community websites, topic rooms, blogs, wikis etc

Support for NHKN Organisations (2) 4) Collaborative projects aligned with Enabling Partnerships, using national infrastructure. 5) Lead or contribute to Enabling Partnerships deliverables, e.g. designing transferable solutions for own area.

Benefits (2) For my organisation and staff: Widening access to information, learning, expertise and good practice. Competence and confidence in using knowledge. Decisions based on evidence and best practice. Confidence that the organisation manages knowledge in line with national standards. In context of financial constraint - opportunity to develop new services; enhance existing services through collaborating with NES and other partners; using national infrastructure – technology, content, skills, frameworks.

Proposal Coordinators Group is incorporated into National Health Knowledge Network Steering Group Group aim is working and learning together to develop and implement local and national knowledge management strategy in line with Enabling Partnerships vision. Will support and be supported in next stages of implementation of QAF Will develop Quality Assurance Framework for organisational knowledge management.

Representation and scope Aim to have all Boards sign up to MOU – corporate commitment to defined KM objectives. Representation from all Boards Scope is knowledge management including but not limited to library services. Learning and development: Leadership Strategic planning and development Organisational knowledge management
