Like + play : like playing ;love + stay : love staying …etc. C) Infinitive + base without to or ing : Let, make, help : e.g. He let me go out. 2

English and Scientific terms Salah Jameel Jabrael -ed or – ing adjectives Note : there are some adjectives taking both ed and– ing patterns, but, they are used differently. Somebody usually take ‘ –ed’, whereas something take ‘ ing’ form. Such as the following examples : e.g. Ali is tired. - Driving fast is tiring. other forms of such adjectives are : Excited / exciting ; bored / boring ; amazed / amazing …etc. 3
