* Rapha = Rephaim (probably) * The Emim had dwelt there in times past, a people as great and numerous and tall as the Anakim. They were also regarded as giants [Hebrew rephaim], (Deuteronomy 2:10-11). * For only Og king of Bashan remained of the remnant of the giants [Hebrew rephaim]. Indeed his bedstead was an iron bedstead… Nine cubits is its length and four cubits its width, according to the standard cubit (Deuteronomy 3:11).

* Godly Success: If someone is known as “successful” serving God, it’s because of the help of other sacrificial servants (Ephesians 4:11-16; Romans 12:3-8). * Loyal commitment: Ordinary people in the body of Christ serve in extraordinary ways for the sake of Christ and people they care about (Philippians 2:25-30). * Credit: Great things are ultimately accomplished because God is great, not men (2 Samuel 23:10,12).

Pride and Fear * Image Pride – I’ll appear weak. * Achiever Pride – You’ll dilute my significance. * Martyr Pride – I want everyone to know how hard I’m working – how much I’m suffering and giving. * Fear Loss of Control – I want it done MY way. * Fear of Relationships – I don’t want to interact or get close. What if we don’t get along?
