Grace Fellowship Church Pastor/Teacher Jim Rickard www.GraceDoctrine.org Resurrection Sunday, March 31, 2013

Jesus was Raised on the Third Day for our Justification.

Psalm 22:1, 6-8, 11-18, Prophecies of our Lord Jesus Christ’s crucifixion.

4th Saying, “My God, My God why have you forsaken me.” Jesus crying out as He received the judgment and penalty for our sins; separation from the Father, spiritual death.

6th Saying, “It is finished.” God the Father’s Plan for the forgiveness of sins for the entire world was now complete.

7th Saying, “Father into your hands I commit My spirit.” Jesus was entrusting His eternal human spirit to the Father, telling of our eternal life too.

The account of Jesus’ burial: Mat 27:57-61 Mark 15:42-47 Luke 23:50-56 John 19:38-41

His body would then remain in the tomb for three days and three nights, also according to prophecy, as Jesus prophesied Himself.

Mat 12:40, “For just as Jonah was three days and three nights in the belly of the sea monster, so will the Son of Man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.”

Mark 8:31, “And He began to teach them that the Son of Man must suffer many things and be rejected by the elders and the chief priests and the scribes, and be killed, and after three days rise again.”

Mark 9:31, “For He was teaching His disciples and telling them, “The Son of Man is to be delivered into the hands of men, and they will kill Him; and when He has been killed, He will rise three days later”.”

Mark 10:34, “They will mock Him and spit on Him, and scourge Him and kill Him, and three days later He will rise again.”

Mark 14:58, “We heard Him say, ‘I will destroy this temple made with hands, and in three days I will build another made without hands’.”

Mark 15:29-30, “Those passing by were hurling abuse at Him, wagging their heads, and saying, “Ha! You who are going to destroy the temple and rebuild it in three days, 30 save Yourself, and come down from the cross!””

Mat 27:63, “Sir, we remember that when He was still alive that deceiver said, ‘After three days I am to rise again’.”

Our Lord’s resurrection should give you spiritual confidence, John 2:18-22.

The Cross was the first half in His overall work for our salvation, whereas the Resurrection is the second half.

Through His spiritual death on the Cross, those who believe in Him have forgiveness of their sins. Retroactive Positional Truth!

Through His resurrection from the grave, those who believe in Him have eternal life being freed from their sin nature. Current Positional Truth! 1 Cor 15:51-59

Our Lord was raised so that whosoever would believe in Him would be justified before the Father forever.

Having been satisfied with the work of His Son, the Father justifies all those who believe on His Son, and they too will receive resurrection to eternal life, Rom 3:21-26; 4:23-24.

Just as Jesus was resurrected after His work for the Father was completed, so to will the Church, (body of Christ), be resurrected at the end of our Age. 1 Cor 15:20-23, 40-44.

Dan 12:3, “Those who have insight will shine brightly like the brightness of the expanse of heaven, and those who lead the many to righteousness, like the stars forever and ever.”

Positionally we stand justified before God as members of His Royal Family, and should live each day unto Him, experiencing our justification and sanctification, Col 3:1.

Col 3:1, “Therefore if you have been raised up with Christ, (and you have), keep seeking the things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God.”

Communion Celebration Isa 52:1-53:14

Grace Offering 2 Cor 9:6-15, “Each one must do just as he has purposed in his heart, not grudgingly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.”

Grace Fellowship Church Sunday, March 31, 2013 Tape # 13-034 Jesus was Raised for our Justification Psa 22, Isa 52:13-52:12; Rom 4 and 5; 1 Cor 15 James H. Rickard Bible Ministries 2013
