Alpha Phi Omega-Theta Alumni Association Endowment Fund An investment in the future of service
2
APO-Theta’s Service Program For over 70 years, APO-Theta has performed a broad scope of service in the Charlottesville community and on UVA grounds, including Chairing blood drives Improving Ivy Creek, Camp Holiday Trails, Barrett Day Care Supporting Garrett Square and Westhaven communities Starting the University Escort Service Renovating the Fluvanna County Community Centers Supporting the Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts Amazingly, the chapter has performed these activities with no outside financial support.
3
Why is outside financial support a priority? Current service project funding comes from chapter dues, the occasional car wash, etc. — meager resources at best More groups approach APO-Theta to do service every semester, often needing APO-Theta to supply wood, materials, and tools Chapter brothers are willing, but do not have the financial means to fulfill all requests For this reason, providing a means to enhance and preserve APO’s service program has become a priority for many brothers and alumni
4
The means to enhance & preserve Theta’s service program: To provide financial support to the service program, a former long-term advisor of APO- Theta has presented a challenge grant to the alumni of Theta chapter: He will donate $10,000.00 towards the development of an APO-Theta Endowment Fund provided that Theta alumni match his donation by raising an additional $40,000.00 by February 2004, Theta Chapter’s 75 th Anniversary.
