2 Where have we been? 2010-2013 Technology Plan Students will use the resources and tools necessary to Gain knowledge Draw conclusions to make informed decisions Share knowledge gained in order to become a productive member of our 21 st century society. Goal 1 – Students and staff will receive the training necessary to develop these skills. Goal 2 – Students and staff will have access to the hardware and software resources necessary to develop these skills. Goal 3 – Students and staff will have access to the print and non-print resources necessary to develop these skills. Goal 4 - Students and staff will receive the support necessary to use the resources to develop these skills.

3 Goal 1 – Students and staff will receive the training necessary to develop these skills. Objective 1 – Students and staff will be provided time and opportunity for technology training. Objective 2 – Staff will be provided guidance and time to develop/update uniform K-12 curriculums to make sure all students will achieve the grade appropriate ITL standards. Staff has been given the opportunity for in-house and outside technology professional development. Ex: small group sharing of iPad uses, ERVING technology sessions, notification of technology classes Staff has been using Links4Learning and Curriculum4Schools to update curriculum linked to the standards. (Information and technology literacy standards are now part of Common Core)

4 Goal 2 – Students and staff will have access to the hardware and software resources necessary to develop these skills. Objective 1 – Students and staff will have access to upgraded and necessary software to support student learning. Objective 2 – Students and staff will have access to upgraded and necessary hardware to support student learning. Objective 3: Students and staff will use avenues of communication provided by the district between school, home, and community. SmartBoards have been installed in a majority of the classrooms A majority of staff members have iPads Students in grades 6, 7, 8 have iPads at their disposal. A cart of iPads is also available to high school teachers. Software apps are available for the iPads Web page, student/parent login to PowerSchool, staff email, etc. used for communication

5 Goal 3 – Students and staff will have access to the print and non-print resources necessary to develop these skills. Objective 1 – Students and staff will have access to relevant internet resources to support student learning. Objective 2 – Students and staff will have access to current and relevant IMC resources and equipment to support student learning. The network was upgraded to accommodate more wireless and internet applications The IMC collections were updated and staff members are given the opportunity to request IMC resources for purchase

6 Goal 4 - Students and staff will receive the support necessary to use the resources to develop these skills. Objective 1 – Students and staff will receive the support necessary to use library media resources for student learning.. Objective 2 – Students will receive keyboarding instruction in grades 3 through 7. Objective 3 – Technical support for the infrastructure, hardware, and software of the district will be provided. A library media specialist is on-sight two days per month to oversee the functioning of the IMC. Each building is staffed by a full-time IMC aide A technician outsourced from Camera Corner Connecting Point is on-sight one day per week to perform necessary work A network engineer is outsourced from Camera Corner Connecting Point to perform network support A technology secretary will coordinate technical support

10 Where are we going? September – December Initial tech planning meeting Goal Setting Objectives Review and approve Goals and Objectives Plan Writing December – Plan submitted to Board, committee will reconvene if major changes are necessary Winter - Plan submitted to DPI for approval, changes made as necessary until plan is approved (by June 30, 2013)
