How to Take Full Control of the ArrayTools and R Folder You need to have Full Control of the ArrayTools and R installation folders to run BRB-ArrayTools on Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8. By BRB-ArrayTools Supporting Team Last updated: July, 24, 2015 Email: arraytools@emmes.com

1.Open the Windows explorer (Windows key + E). Here the screen shots are from Windows Vista. Different Windows versions may have different menu appearances. The steps should be similar. 2.Go to the ArrayTools installation folder, by default “C:\Program Files\ArrayTools” on the 32-bit Windows OS and “C:\Program Files (x86)\ArrayTools” on the 64-bit Windows OS, and right click the mouse on the “ArrayTools” folder. 3.Select the “Properties” at the bottom of the menu.

Security Tab 4. Select the ‘Security’ tab. 5. Click your UserName. Here the user name is “BRB_VISTA”. 6. Then click on the “Advanced” button.

Owner Tab 7. Click the “Owner” tab.

Edit Button 8. It shows the folder owner is Administrators. If you are not Administrator, you need to ask your technical support for help. 9. Click the “Edit” button. You will see a permission message. 10. Windows needs your permission to continue. Click “Yes”.

Select your User Name 11. Select your “UserName” and then click the “Apply” button. 12. You may get a message for permission. Click “OK”. 13. Click the “OK” button on the Owner menu.

Return to Security Tab 14. The Current owner is changed to your “UserName”. 15. Now, click the “OK” button to return to the folder’s Properties menu. You return to the “Security” tab of the Properties menu.

Full Control 16. Click on your “UserName”, 17. Check the “Full Control” button below “Allow”. 18. Click “OK”.

ArrayTools Properties 19. Click on the “Apply” button and then the “OK” button. 20. Now the folder you have Full Control.

21. Repeat Step 1 to 20 to get Full Control for the R installation folder. The default installation path of R is C:/Program Files/R.
