Recommended text book OCR AS Chemistry Student Book and Exam Café CD Rom by Rob Richie and David Gent. Heinemann Educational Publishers [ISBN: 0435691813] – Approximate cost £18 You are strongly recommended to buy this text as soon as possible

Laboratory coats are available but you can also buy your own through the Chemistry department(approx. £10.50) Chemistry Review magazine which is written specifically for AS level students, is available at reduced rates. This magazine may help your understanding and keep you up to date with the latest developments in Chemistry.

You need an order form and your cheque, made payable to‘New College’ or cash to take to reception for any of the items you want to order through New College. Orders should be by the end of the week

Resources There are a variety of additional textbooks available in the college library. You will also be able to access useful documents on college intranet and a system called Moodle will allow you to access information at college and from home. Password: Jones A CD Rom for the AS Chemistry course has been written by staff at New College. You can make free copy to keep at home.

Students will be advised early in the course if staff think they will not succeed. Students not passing the examinations in January will be asked to leave the course if their progress has been unsatisfactory. Students who miss a course work must notify their lecturer, by e-mail, as to the reason
