Who are we? Background: The FACT2 Advisory Council adopted a Task Group model focusing on three key topics this year: 1. Learning Environments (J. Moreau) 2. Teaching and Learning (G. Glynn) 3. E-Publishing (M. J. Orzech)

Goals Collect information on e-publishing models and practices in SUNY and other higher education systems. Advise SUNY/OLIS on e-publishing trends. Work toward policy recommendations to inform business decision-making regarding content. Communicate with stakeholders at all levels throughout the system about best practices regarding e-publishing, content creation, digital rights management, etc.

Part 2 Developed list of OER (Open Educational Resource) websites Compiled list of publishers’ e-text models Reviewed proposed NYS legislation re: e-texts Collected informal student reactions to e-texts Going forward- Proposing CIT presentations incorporate Creative Commons licensing option working on a one-day event to coincide with Open Access Week (October 18-24)
