2. Why I want to be a Teacher. Ever since I was little, I have always wanted to be a teacher. At the time I didn’t know what kind of teacher I wanted to be. My aunt is a teacher and she is the person that I look up to the most and she was the one that made me decide that I wanted to be a teacher. I want to become a physical education teacher, because I love sports and I always want to be a teacher so the best type of teacher would be a gym teacher. I work really well with children and I enjoy helping them out. Also I want to become a coach of like a soccer team at the school I’m teaching at.

3. Physical Education Teacher The general goal of the undergraduate Kinesiology Pedagogy Track is to prepare teachers for careers in schools. Specific goals for the pedagogy track are that students will demonstrate skill and knowledge of a variety of movement activities including fundamental motor skills, dance, fitness, adventure, and sports education; apply knowledge about human movement from the different sub disciplines to the teaching of physical education; analyze and evaluate human motor performance of individuals in various age groups and skill levels and evaluate and reflect on one's own teaching performance using systematic techniques; and plan, implement, and manage effective lessons.

4. Wayne State I want to be able to play on the soccer team at Wayne State that is one of my goals while I attend there. I want to finish college there and get my masters in physical education.

5. Masters Physical Education Pedagogy The Master of Education Degree in Physical Education, Pedagogy is designed to meet the needs of state certified teachers wishing to continue an in-depth study of physical education pedagogy including the study of teaching, teacher education, and curriculum for academic and/or professional careers in physical education pedagogy. Another emphasis is designed to provide both a theoretical and practical background for the teacher, coach, or administrator of physical education and sports programs in schools at the elementary or secondary level. The degree program requires a minimum of 34 credit hours and is divided into three general areas of study: (a) specialization courses, (b) general professional courses, and (c) selected courses (i.e., elective choices). As a culminating experience, students may elect a thesis or project option. This experience is included within the "Specialization Courses" credit hour requirement. This program prepares students for further academic studies and/or professional development in physical education pedagogy. Physical education pedagogy is comprised of three sub-disciplines, the study of research on teaching, teacher education, and curriculum theory.

6. Requirements Students must meet with their assigned PE faculty adviser at least one time each academic year. Students must earn a "C" or better in all major and minor coursework (including BIO 2870). Undergraduate students must be admitted into Level 2 status (unconditionally) before enrolling in Level 2 courses. Students may not begin student teaching until they have successfully completed all major coursework and the majority of their minor coursework, and successfully passed their major and minor MTTC exams.

7. Educational Requirements Most K-12 schools require PE teachers to hold a minimum of a bachelor's degree in physical education. Curriculum for a physical education bachelor's degree usually encompasses general education fundamentals and overall teaching theory and methodology combined with specialized courses in physical education. Sample courses include anatomy and physiology, sports officiating and first aid.

8. Licensing Requirements Physical education teachers, like all teachers, require state licensing or certification through the State Board of Education to teach in public schools. To become licensed, you must have a bachelor’s degree and have graduated from a teacher- training program approved by your state. Some states require teachers to undergo testing in teaching skills and subject competency.

9. Private Schools Licensing Requirements Although private schools may not have standardized requirements, a minimum of a bachelor's degree in physical education is generally desirable. Some PE Teachers need to earn a master's degree or complete graduate-level coursework within a certain period of time during employment Others may require prior experience in related work such as coaching, in order to qualify.

10. Salary According to Payscale.com, the median annual salary for a starting PE Teacher was $33,075 in 2011. With experience, a PE Teacher can earn up to $50,446. Wages also depend on concentration of schools and demand which vary by state and location. Most PE Teachers work at K-12 school systems and may also be coaches of various athletic sports teams. According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS), 'www.bls.gov', elementary school teachers made an average of $52,240 per year in 2008. Middle school teachers earned $52,570 on average each year, and high school teachers earned $54,390.

11. In the Future Once I complete college, I want to go and be a student teacher somewhere. After I student teach I want to move out of state to find a job.
