QR Codes What is it? A QR (Quick Response) code is a scannable graphic that can contain content in the form of text, images, videos, sounds, contact information or a website. They are an ideal way to quickly share content in your classroom using the iPads!

How to Create Your Own QR Code 1. Go to www.qrstuff.comwww.qrstuff.com 3. Type in the URL, video number, text, etc. that you want students to use here. 4. Click “Download QR Code” and save it as a picture to print or put in a presentation. Take a few minutes and try to create one on your own! 2. Click which type of data you want to enter.

Student use of QR Codes in the Classroom Students can use the Qrafter App to scan codes and explore codes! 2. To scan the QR code, click “Scan with Camera”. Make sure the camera on the back of the iPad is accessible. 3. To open the content, click “Go to URL”. FYI: Sites visited will save on the “History” side bar for future use! 1. Find the Qrafter app on the home screen.

Uses for QR Codes in the Classroom 1. Share images (looking at or using a common photo from Google images) 2. Share websites (frequently used sites like a class website, Camden Station homepage, blog, IXL, etc.) 3. Share text (new information about a topic or to present information) 4. Share videos (have students view a BrainPop, Discovery Education video or Teacher Tube video efficiently/independently) 5. Share Google forms (surveys, assessments, parent information, item check-outs, etc.) 6. Add a voice- using www.qrvoice.net (instant feedback)www.qrvoice.net *100 character limit* 6. Listen to audio- using the Audioboo app or website (giving directions, accommodating student needs, for students to demonstrate their learning, book talks, etc.) *Need an account* *Up to 3 minutes*

Padlet Site What is it? A collaboration wall for students to share or reflect on their learning. It is easy to create and to use for teachers and students! Teacher Set Up: 1.Go to www.padlet.comwww.padlet.com 2.Click “Login or Sign Up” in the top right corner (only need an email and a password). 3.Click “Build a Wall”. 4.Type in a question or directions for completing an assignment for students by double clicking any where on the “wall”. 5.Share this “wall” with others by giving them the URL OR by making this URL a QR code (recommended).

Padlet Site Student Use: 1.Have students scan the QR code given or type in the URL. 2.Students can double tap the screen anywhere to add a new note to the wall. ChatterPix Kids App What is it? A fun way to demonstrate student learning in any content area! It is similar to Funny Movie Maker, but kid-friendly and easy to use. Features: It’s FREE! Movies save to the "camera roll" for future use or exporting! Can choose any appropriate photo from GoogleJunior or take photos Holds up to 30 seconds of audio

Exploration of Apps by Standard 1. Please go to the PD website (www.camdentechnologypd.weebly.co m)www.camdentechnologypd.weebly.co m 2. Go to the 3 rd PD session tab and find the attachment for your grade level. 3. Let’s take fifteen minutes to explore the apps for your grade level math and ELA standards! If it is a paid app, please use the “community iPad” in the middle of your table to explore! If it is a free app, you may type the title of the app in the search bar of the App Store and click the cloud to download it onto your device!
