Fact of the Day! Black women sacrificed as well. They contributed to the war effort in significant ways and formed the backbone of African- American patriotic activities. Clubwomen, many under the auspices of the National Association of Colored Women (NACW), led "liberty loan" campaigns, held rallies, and provided crucial material and emotional support for black troops. Women joined war service organizations such as the YWCA and the Red Cross as well as establishing their own groups, like the Women's Auxiliary of the New York 15th National Guard, to meet the specific needs of black soldiers.

The treaty of Versailles was the treaty that ended the war.

It was signed at the Palace of Versailles, outside Paris, France. The treaty was created by “the Big Four”: Wilson – President of USA Clemenceau – President of France Lloyd George – Prime Minister of England Orlando – Prime Minister of Italy

The Treaty of Versailles blames the ENTIRE war on Germany, and makes them agree to several harsh conditions: Germany must take full responsibility for the war Germany must get rid of its colonies Germany must get rid of its navy (and submarines) The League of Nations will be created
