MINSK CITY TOUR Practically all newcomers note that Minsk is a very green city. According to the estimates, there are over 2 million trees in the city. Church of St. Simon and Helena ("Red Church") named after the son and daughter of a local landowner, both of whom died young. They are represented by the two towers at the rear. In the grounds of the church you will find a bell, which was presented to the church by the Catholic diocese of Nagasaki. The year 2008 was declared the Year of Health in Belarus, serving logical continuation of the Year of Mother (2006) and the Year of Child (2007). In Belarus 1.481 million people do sport, which is 15.3% of the country’s population; more than 26,000 specialists work in the sport industry. The Dinamo Stadium is part of Minsk's landscape and it's really an interesting piece of architecture. It lies along the river and very close to the main centre of the city. It has the shape of a colisseum, very classic roman style. Inside it's the typical olympic stadium, very big, with no coverage and brand new UEFA-Cup approved orange seats.

Belarus's main environmental problems are chemical and nuclear pollution. Belarus was the republic most affected by the accident at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant in April 1986. Belarus has 88 UNESCO World Heritage Sites. In addition, Belarus has significant air and water pollution from industrial sources. As of 2001, Belarus had over 2,000 species of plants, 74 mammal species, and 221 breeding bird species. Four mammal species and four bird species were listed as threatened that year. Endangered species include the European bison and the European mink.

Kinel-Cherkassy Kinel-Cherkasy is the biggest village in Central Russia. It was founded in 1744. Now the population of Kinel-Cherkassy is over 20 000 people We are proud of the beauty of our nature and the buildings. The church was built in 1844

There are many administrative buildings, shops, a theatre, a cinema in the centre of Kinel-Cherkassy. The Hospital in Kinel-Cherkassy has a long history. This modern building was constructed in 1972. We study at school N2. It was opened in 1933. In 1978 it moved into the building where we study now.

There are a great number of green- houses in our village. We grow different vegetables all year round. Tomatoes are the favorite vegetables in Kinel-Cherkassy. Sport is the favourite pastime of most children and teenagers in my village. As for my friends, we prefer football, boxing, sambo and track and field events. There are 3 schools in Kinel-Cherkassy.

Braslav Braslav is the town of tourism. Many people visit this country to see this beautiful place. We really have something to show. There are many historical places, for example: The Castle Hill, churches and many old streets. Braslav is a historical place. The Castle Hill (which is situated in the centre of the town) is surrounded by lakes. The town Braslav was founded in 1065 on the Castle Hill. Braslav was named after its first prince Brachislav. Our town is peculiar, because it is surrounded by lakes, because of this our country is called “blue- eyed”. It is more then 300 lake here and many marshes and forests.

In our town there are 3 schools and 1 gymnasium. We study at gymnasium, there are about 300 students here. We can say that it is students (not teachers) who rule this place : we have the President of our gymnasium, a Counsil, also we have school emblem, flag and hymn of our gymnasium. We take an active part in school life. We have many traditions, for example the Day of Selfmanagement (or self government), when students replace teachers. Also we have tradition of Initiation into a Gymnasist. We always celebrate the Birthday of our gymnasium. This dates are rememnered by every student in our establishment.

GRODNO Grodno was founded in 1128 It has a lot of historical monuments and places of interest. It is situated to the north- west of Belarus, not far from the borders of Poland and Lithuania. Over 300.000 people live in our town. There are several big industrial enterprises in our town The Republic of Belarus

MOSCOW Moscow is the capital of Russia. It was founded in 1147 year There are some of Moscow monuments Tsaritsyno is palace and park ensemble in the south of Moscow, founded by order of Empress Catherine II in 1776. Is administered by the Museum of Tsaritsyno, founded in 1984. Tsarina is the most important monument of the so-called "Russian Gothic"

St. Basil's Cathedral was built in 1555- 1561 years on the Red Square near the stone of Trinity Church "on the ditch" in 1553 by architects Barma and Postnik Yakovlev as a temple-monument in honor of the conquest of Kazan by Ivan IV in 1552, and the glory of the fallen soldiers in this battle (Trinity Church was a part of the new church). We live in the west of Moscow, in the district Krylatskoye. This is our children’s library named after Ann Akhmatova. We can read books there and take books home. There are many interesting books and magazines there. The “Krylatskoye” sports complex There are two parts: the rowing canal and the indoors cycle track. The Olympic cycle track was built in 1979. I It looks like a big butterfly. Different kinds of competitions are held there. More than 200 world records were set there. The Church of St. Mary is located on Krylatsky Hills. Near the church live squirrels.

Near the sports complex is a beautiful Ice palace. Coaches teach children skating and figure skating class here. Weekends are massive skating. Sometimes there are competitions there. This is our cinema “Matrix”. We can watch films, movies here in 3D format.
