Pink-E-Pie’s Play Palace, Inc. September 2015 Infant News Ms. Melissa With September here, summer is winding down, bringing cooler weather. I can’t wait to get the little ones outside to see the beautiful colors that fall brings with it. I am also proud to say that all the babies are becoming quite mobile, crawling, and pulling up on toys. Some are still a little clumsy, and have a round bottom, but they are getting around quite fine. We will be working on building those leg muscles by encouraging walking around the room. Either by us holding their hand, or them taking off with a pusher. I want to thank you for entrusting me with the care of your little ones. It is such a joy to have each one of them in my class! What’s Happening? W W e just wanted to welcome Mrs. Meagan. She has three years of college education with emphasis on early education and plans on finishing her degree soon. We are excited to have her apart of our team! W W e wanted to ask for your prayers. We have one of our toddler students that had an accident at home and broke her femur. She will not be with us for a while so we are asking for you to keep her in your thoughts and pray for a speedy recovery. Preschool News Mrs. Brandee & Mrs. Sandy This month we will be working on ALL ABOUT ME. We will be making a book all about your child and we will be working on learning about our individual characteristics, such as our eye and hair colors. We will also discuss the similarities and differences between each other in the classroom. There will also be doing class projects that will help the children learn about each other. One in particular will include drawing a picture of their family, visually showing them how each family is different and unique. Notes from Mrs. Robin I I f you have any stresses or concerns regarding our center, please fill out a stress buster card located by clock in computer. P P lease remember to clock your child in and out everyday. This helps us keep track for billing and food servicing purposes. P P lease report any changes to addresses and or phone numbers for home, cell and work. Toddler News Ms. Leanna This month the toddlers will be continuing on the ALL ABOUT ME curriculum. As well as working on their potty training and putting on their own shoes. We know there has been a few different teachers that you may have seen in the toddler room. We are currently working on there being consistent teachers in that room and will be announcing the permanent teachers schedule in a few days. We thank you for baring with us while we work on this transition. If you have any questions about the curriculum, your child's progress, the classroom, or the teachers please feel free to talk to me or Robin!Pink-E-Pie’s Play Palace, Inc. Play Palace, Inc. September 2015 Tips for Grocery Shopping with Your Kids Have a plan and stick to it-Know exactly what you need to get and which aisles you will need to go down and try not to stray from that plan. Go early-Parking is easier, people are less likely to be rushing and children are not as cranky, versus if you went after work. Do the bathroom break when you first get there-Get the kids to use the bathroom right when you get there to avoid the mid-shopping interruption or frustrating search and race to the restroom. Bring snacks or eat before you shop-Anticipate and deal with hunger before going into the store so it's less likely that a meltdown will occur and you're not constantly peppered with requests to buy things not on your list. Eat right before you go, bring a snack along, or make it a priority to grab a snack from the store first thing so they can munch while shopping. Let them help-Older kids can make the list or check things off, and you can ask younger kids to help with decision making: "Would you like broccoli or green beans with dinner tonight?“ Kids can also help count out or bag produce, pull the right items off shelves, or even help put things onto the conveyer belt. Remember to be patient, make sure they're not in the way of other shoppers, and know they're picking up shopping skills that will serve them well in the future!
