5 Introducing the HLG  High-level Group for the Modernisation of Statistical Production and Services  Created by the Conference of European Statisticians in 2010  Vision and strategy endorsed by CES in 2011/2012

6 What does the HLG do?  Oversees activities that support modernisation of statistical organisations  Stimulates development of global standards and international collaboration activities  “Within the official statistics community... take a leadership and coordination role”

10 Modernisation Committee on Products and Sources - Mandate Consider and make proposals on how to develop the range of sources needed to support modernised statistical production and services, as well as the various products needed to meet the increasing demands of users. Operational responsibility for work on statistical data collection, including Big Data, and various aspects of dissemination including statistical communication, access to micro-data, statistical confidentiality and open data.
