Clones by Edward Racey Similar but not the same experience defines distinction. Man must not seek to duplicate just one step closer to extinction. Why bite the hand that feeds you? Why smack the hands of creation? Has time taught us nothing of life? We MUST fight the duplication. It is hard enough today to find a definite identity. It would be impossible to find the truth if there were two or more of me. You have constructed the ladder but now you have climbed too high. The strands of DNA beneath you shatter and now the pieces fall from the sky. Clones - Is this really me?

“The results of a Time/CNN poll taken- suggest that Americans find the idea of human cloning deeply troubling: 3 out of 4 disapprove.” Elmer-Dewit, Philip, Cloning: where do we draw the line, Time magazine, 1993
20
“One argument against human cloning is the idea that it is morally wrong or undesirable to crate replicas of people-although a clone has the same gene set as the adult from which it is cloned-the resulting individual is not an identical copy, ether psychologically or physically.” McLachlan, Hugh. Lets legalize cloning, Reed business Information UK, 21 July 2007

“Embryonic stem cells ant the subject of intense medical interest because of their ability to develop into any major cell types in the human body-these stem cells could become the foundation for therapies for a range of diseases.” N. Spotts, Peter. Stem-cell advance opens up the field, the Christian Monitor 23 November 2007.
22
PROSCONS Can help cure autoimmune diseases and cancers Can help replace damaged body cells A child that does not have biological parents The clone will be less alike than the original person High risk factors of the clone and parent surviving
23
Be more aware of the medical advances that are done with stem research and what is being done with the human body Look at the pros and cons of cloning and stem cell research Vote what you feel is right
