10 Appalachian and Minority STEM Majors AMSTEMM Nonnumeric Goals:  Demonstrate that the provision of extensive support services for students will result in significant increases in enrollment, retention, and graduation of Appalachian, minority, and women STEM students  Provide a model for UK to institutionalize and other universities to initiate to increase STEM enrollment, retention, and graduation  Cooperate and coordinate with other KY universities with similar goals

11 Appalachian and Minority STEM Majors Highlights of AMSTEMM Students may: Participate in Research Attend Bi-Weekly Research Colloquia and take a Methods Course Take a Place-Based Discovery Seminar Receive Extra Academic Support and Advising Join a Living/Learning Community
